Dubai – Kite Beach

Two beaches inside the city limits ride on a light thermal of 10–20 knots that blows onshore to cross-onshore and is strongest in the afternoons, with 10 to 20 rideable days a month and no real season, though spring and autumn have slightly better statistics and summer is too hot anyway. The beach is only 300 m wide but you can ride out as far as you like over slightly choppy water with no tide and no obstacles apart from other people. A city break with a kite rather than a wind trip; some riders find the wind too unreliable to bother, so pack the big kite.
