Leucate – La Franqui

The Tramontane blows hard and often across this stretch of Mediterranean coast, host to the Mondial du Vent event. The Leucate lagoon offers shallow flat water for learning and freestyle, while the beaches at La Franqui give side-shore wind with chop and small waves. Beginners have the lagoon; the strong, gusty days are what draw speed- and jump-oriented riders.
