Lagos – Meia Praia & Ria de Alvor
The western Algarve has reliable afternoon thermal winds from May to September and two contrasting spots. The shallow, flat Ria de Alvor lagoon between Lagos and Alvor is made for learning; the 8 km beach of Meia Praia is for riding once you are up. Many schools teach here, with a rescue boat on the water.
