Canouan – Windward Lagoon

A reef-fringed lagoon on the windward side of Canouan in the Grenadines, reached with a little local knowledge. The trade wind from east to south-east blows from December to June over chop and waves, with reef, coral and currents to watch; it is the start of a downwinder to Saltwhistle Bay on Mayreau. Launch from the small beaches along the lagoon rather than in front of the hotel.
