Cuesta del Viento

A dam lake at Rodeo in the Andean foothills of San Juan province with wind on more than 300 days a year at over 20 knots, arguably the windiest kite spot on the continent and host of championships and the yearly Kitefest in February. The wind never really stops and picks up in the afternoon, side-shore to onshore over emerald water that turns bumpy and jumpy, so riders fly small kites against a backdrop of golden hills and Andean glaciers. Schools and lakeside lodges provide gear and lessons, but the strength makes it a spot for intermediate and advanced riders.
