Isla Margarita – El Yaque

A legendary windsurf village on the south coast of Isla Margarita with huge shallow areas of flat to choppy water over sand. The easterly trade wind blows almost every day, building from late morning to a peak around three in the afternoon. Kiters ride upwind of the buoyed windsurf zone from a tiny launch area, or take the boat shuttle to the kite beach further upwind for steadier wind and a long downwinder back.
