A harbour town on the Holmsland dune strip between the North Sea and the Ringkøbing Fjord, with two very different spots a few hundred metres apart: the huge, shallow fjord with ideal flat water for beginners and freestylers, and the sea behind the dunes. The South Pier is a legendary wave spot where clean sets roll in on north-westerly days and can top two metres, with regular set intervals that make it a good first wave spot. Denmark gets wind from passing lows and stable highs, mostly north-west to south-west, and the season runs May to September; suits all levels.
