Miaoli – Jhunan

A 4 km sandy beach on Taiwan's west coast, half an hour from Hsinchu. The north-east monsoon blows 20–35 knots in winter, with a 50–70 percent chance of wind from October to January, and the summer south-westerly 12–25 knots. Beach-break waves are 1–3 m in winter and 0.5–1.5 m in summer, with chop outside; the tide is not strong.
