Lake Neuchâtel

Switzerland's largest lake entirely within the country, with several spots: Yvonand and Portalban on the shallow southern shore, St-Blaise in the north. The cold, gusty north-easterly Bise is the most common wind, frontal south-westerlies bring stronger days, and on summer evenings the Joran thermal can arrive from the north-west. Spring and autumn are best; launches are small, so body-drag out and stay clear of the swimming zones.
