Two almost enclosed bays of white sand and turquoise water in the north of Sardinia, where the strait to Corsica accelerates whichever wind is blowing: a gusty Mistral or Tramontana of up to 8 Bft in spring, a steadier Ponente of 4–6 Bft side to side-offshore in summer, Scirocco in autumn. The eastern bay is reserved for wing and windsurf and is usually flat, the western kite bay gets small waves, and the water is foil-deep within a few metres of the beach. Sardinia's most wind-reliable spot and a family classic from Easter to late October; the morning wind is light enough for beginners, the afternoons deliver for everyone.
