Zanzibar – Nungwi & Kiwengwa

The north and north-east coast of Zanzibar. At Ras Nungwi the water inside the reef is crystal clear and smooth, with waves on the reef, and there is no seaweed farming, so no sticks or urchins; at Kiwengwa the reef lies a kilometre out, with shallow water for learning. The island has two wind seasons, the north-easterly Kaskazi around December to February and the southerly Kusi from mid-June to mid-October.
