A 1 km sandy spit, the Cypel, reaching into the Bay of Puck just north of Gdynia, with an onshore side with chop and small waves and an offshore side with flat water, so there is always a choice. North-west through north to east winds work best; westerlies can be gusty. Fronts crossing Poland bring 7–26 knots, most often in spring and autumn.
