Cartagena – La Boquilla

A miles-long, very wide beach just north of Cartagena's old town, protected from big chop and waves by the bay, which makes it a safe place to learn. The northerly trade wind blows side-shore from mid-December to about June, peaking from January to March; ride upwind of the kite centre. In the city, El Laguito by the jetty offers flat water in stronger, offshore wind for experienced riders.
