Chiemsee – Chieming

Bavaria's largest lake is a pleasant place to learn in summer, and its size lets the wind develop freely over the flat surface, an advantage over the many smaller lakes. Strong wind needs patience, but when depressions pass along the Alps they bring strong westerlies, and the spots at Feldwies and Chieming show their windy side with a proper wave. Chieming is the designated kite spot on westerly winds, with shallow water and a wide gravel beach for launching and landing.
