A beach town just north of Colombo airport with a long sandy shore. Getting out means passing about 1 m of shorebreak and some current, easiest by body-dragging, after which the water is mostly flat; the north-east monsoon season from January to March brings the wind. Launch to the right of the pier, away from the locals' beach.
