Arica – Las Machas

A very long beach at Chile's northernmost city, on the edge of the Atacama desert. The southerly thermal blows side- to side-onshore at a fairly light 13–18 knots, so bring big kites; the southern end is perfectly flat, the northern end has waves but less wind, and swells produce good jumping waves in the south.
