Germany's windsurf island has some of the most selective conditions in the world on its west coast, where strong current meets an unsorted North Sea shore break, but its tips are gentle: Königshafen and List in the north and Hörnum in the south have big standing areas and flat water, and Munkmarsch on the east side is a sheltered standing-depth spot that works from 2.5 hours before to 2.5 hours after high water. The whole west coast is open to kiters, with hotspots like K4 in the south where the sandbanks leave flat water at low tide and let you edge into the waves. Something for every level on the right side of the island; the wave beaches are for experts.
