A south-facing 1.2 km beach of firm, smooth sand inside Waterford Harbour. The prevailing south-westerly is the wind to have; at mid tide there are about 300 m of waist-deep, flat water, which makes it an easy place to learn, and pubs and seafood restaurants sit right by the beach.
