Porto Cesareo

Puglia's top spot on the Salento coast, golden sand meeting water of almost Caribbean colour. From June to September a steady south-westerly thermal blows at 13–15 knots, but the prized wind is the south-easterly Scirocco with gusts of up to 40 knots: the shape of the seabed then leaves flat water for freestyle inside the shoal and a natural playground for wave riding and big air beyond it. Suits all levels depending on the day.
