The Maharees sand spit at Castlegregory on the Dingle peninsula divides Brandon Bay from Tralee Bay. Fermoyle and the bay side have excellent waves with flat water in between, while the inside of the spit is shallow and flat, perfect for speed, and a northerly there is offshore but glassy. Frontal winds from the Atlantic, strongest in spring and autumn.
