The 15 km run from Maliko Gulch to Kanaha is the world's best-known downwind course, where foil downwinding was pioneered: strong summer trades line up open-ocean swells that riders link for miles. It is deep, exposed water with no easy exits. Strictly for experienced foilers with solid downwind skills, usually with a shuttle and a partner.
