A wide white-sand beach north of Mombasa facing a large area of flat, shallow turquoise water enclosed by a reef 2 km offshore, which has epic waves outside. Unlike many beaches nearby it works at every state of the tide. The north-east monsoon blows side-shore from December to April and the south-east monsoon, often over 30 knots, from June to September, which makes it a great place to learn and progress.
