Lanzarote – Famara

A 6 km beach below the Famara cliffs on Lanzarote's north-west coast. From April to October the north-easterly trade wind blows 10–25 knots almost daily over chop of up to half a metre; in autumn and winter the wind is irregular but swell of up to 3–4 m arrives. The northern end is rocky and tide-dependent and the western part of the bay is closed to kites in summer, so it suits intermediate and advanced riders.
