Algeciras – Getares

A big sandy beach on the Bay of Algeciras, twenty minutes from Tarifa, that comes into its own when the Levante blows: an east-south-easterly bends into the bay and gives chop that can build to 1.5 m waves. It sits partly in a wind shadow and can be gusty, but it offers an alternative to Tarifa's crowded Levante days; summer brings the most windy days.
