The windiest corner of Kos: the Meltemi is squeezed through the channel between the island's east end and the Turkish coast and arrives side-shore to slightly offshore from the left, building through the day to frequent 6 Bft afternoons in July, August and late October. A long pebble beach with lots of space, little current and no shore break; flat to choppy inside, with swell and ramps of up to 2 m further out in 5–7 Bft. Mornings suit beginners and returners, afternoons the small-wing crowd; kiters have their own spot 1 km upwind.
