A remote island 600 km east of Mauritius whose giant lagoon at Mourouk gives flat to very flat water, with some reforming waves further out. The south-east trade wind from June to October is 5–10 knots stronger than on Mauritius, lighter in the mornings and building in the afternoons, so bring small kites. The bottom is covered in sharp, fragile staghorn coral and the tide matters, so ride at higher tides and watch the currents at the passes.
