Los Caños de Meca

A bay by the Cape Trafalgar lighthouse, 40 minutes north-west of Tarifa, where the Levante produces some of Andalusia's cleanest waves, up to 3 m, and every Tarifa local turns up when it works. The wind is usually one or two Beaufort lighter than in Tarifa, which makes it the place to go when Tarifa is overpowered; Poniente days are flat. A reef in front of the apartments is exposed at low tide; kiters enter by the lighthouse.
