A long golden beach in a wide bay at the quiet western end of Kos, 15 km from the airport, with the islet of Agios Nikolaos in the middle. The Meltemi blows all summer: light in the morning at 2–3 Bft for lessons, 4 Bft by midday with a small swell for bump and jump, then cross-offshore from the right at 4–6 Bft in the afternoon as the thermal kicks in, flat water for slalom-style blasting. The beach shelves steeply, and the steadiest wind is a few hundred metres out; cleaner side-shore conditions and a more traditional village than the south of the island, good for families and mixed-level groups.
