The classic Rhodes spot in front of the Ialyssos (Trianda) hotels, at the island's second-narrowest point to Turkey, where the Meltemi and the thermals off Monte Smith give 4–7 Bft on most days from mid-June to mid-September and a usable afternoon 4 Bft even in the shoulder months. Side-shore wind from the left over a pebbly beach, mostly small chop with wind waves of up to 1.5 m on strong days, which makes it a freeride and freestyle favourite for advanced riders. Beginners use the sheltered windmill bay 500 m along, where the first 75 m are protected from wind and waves; a lively resort strip, not a quiet spot.
