Floras Lake

A spring-fed freshwater lake separated from the Pacific by a narrow sand spit on the southern Oregon coast, called the best place to learn in the state. The northern end is waist-deep and smooth for a couple of hundred feet; north to north-west winds blow 15–25 knots from mid-day to late afternoon from spring to October, with a few wind holes. A local school has taught windsurfing since 1990 and now kiting and winging too.
