Inverloch – Anderson Inlet

A shallow inlet in South Gippsland, two hours from Melbourne, separated from the ocean by a bush-covered sandbar. At high tide the sand banks flood into a large area of flat, shallow water, perfect for learning; at low tide you ride the channel between them. Being an inlet, most winds from east through south to west work; northerlies are least suitable. The launch is by the fishing club, and two local shops run lessons.
