Whitsundays – Whitehaven Beach

One of Australia's most famous beaches, pure white silica sand on Whitsunday Island in the Great Barrier Reef, reached by boat from Airlie Beach. The lagoon at the end of the beach gives shallow, flat water; from December to June the wind blows from east to south, most reliably from March to June, regularly reaching 25 knots.
