Sunshine Coast – Noosa & Maroochydore

Queensland's Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane. At Cotton Tree in Maroochydore the north-easterly sea breeze averages 15–25 knots over warm, shallow water in the river mouth, with waves on the ocean side; at the Noosa river mouth a north-easterly and an outgoing tide give flat, waist-deep water for learning and surf where the river meets the sea. The season runs from September to April; both spots are busy with swimmers and boats.
