South Wales' most popular kite beach, 3 miles of sand on Swansea Bay with hard sand at mid to low tide. There is nearly always wind with passing depressions, giving chop and small surf in the big Bristol Channel tides; ride at the western end, marked by a yellow kite flag on the sea wall. Across the bay, Swansea's beach has a short-lived lagoon in front of the university at certain tides.
