Pebble-topped beaches between Worthing and Brighton on England's south coast. In summer a south-westerly sea breeze builds on about four days out of seven, reaching 15 mph by noon and 20 by early afternoon, side-onshore from the right, with chop and small waves; two hours after high tide firm sand appears below the pebbles at Lancing. Goring Gap is rocky and very shallow at low tide; launch from the green, not the crowded beach.
