One of Cornwall's longest golden beaches, on the Atlantic north coast near Newquay, with hollow, powerful beach-break waves from about 3 ft to over 6 ft and some flat water around low tide. Frontal winds from south-south-west round to north work, best in a big swell with a south-westerly. Kiting is banned at the Perranporth town end; check the signs or ask the RNLI lifeguards.
