A remote village at the mouth of the Preguiças river on Brazil's northern coast and a gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses dunes and lagoons, with a wide estuary of beautifully flat water and 20–30 knots through the main season. Around one to two hours either side of low tide some shallows become inaccessible, but deeper channels are always rideable, and for most of the tidal cycle the conditions are outstanding. Some of the easiest flat-water wing foiling in Brazil, forgiving enough to learn on, in a place that feels a world away; getting there takes longer than to the Ceará spots.
