The nearest flat-water spot to Amsterdam, on the IJmeer. At Muiderberg the fresh water is waist deep over a sandy bottom, perfect for learning; launch and land standing in the water, keep kites away from the trees and expect gusts near the grassy launch. Across the water, Muiderzand at Almere is deep and suits foilers. The wind comes with depressions and is a few knots lighter than on the coast.
