The Walcheren and Oosterschelde barrier coast. At Neeltje Jans by the storm surge barrier the water is flat between the sandbanks with some waves further out, in south-west to north-west winds of about 10–18 knots; at Breezand near Vrouwenpolder a high-tide lagoon forms and a kite corridor stays open even in high season, with waves of up to 1.5 m in south-westerlies. Kamperland on the Roompot side has flat, shallow water (bring booties for the oysters).
