North Sea beach resorts between The Hague and Haarlem, with waves breaking on three sandbars one after another and no piers or harbour walls. Riding is only allowed at the surf clubs' zones, which offer day memberships, rescue and facilities, plus a public zone at Langevelderslag. South-westerlies are common in spring and autumn, north-easterlies in summer; Katwijk sees wind three or four days a week.
