IJsselmeer – Mirns & Stavoren

The south-west corner of Friesland on the IJsselmeer. At Mirns knee-deep water stretches some 700 m out from a small sandy beach, flat to choppy depending on the wind, in a marked kite zone south of the yellow buoys with a nature reserve to the north. Stavoren and Lemmer have deep water close in, better for foilers and experienced riders. Low-pressure winds from south-east round to west; winter water levels expose some stones at Mirns.
