Büsum

A Wadden Sea resort where a big zone in front of the dyke is reserved for windsurfers and kiters. The shallow tidal water is flat to choppy and only rideable for about two and a half hours either side of high tide; at low tide experienced riders use the basin behind the dam, which keeps its water. Launch from the grass dyke with care, and expect the best wind with westerly depressions outside summer.
