Flensburg Fjord – Holnis

A peninsula in the Flensburg Fjord looking across to Denmark. Holnis has a 1.5 km sandy beach with 80–100 m of shallow water and a small shorebreak over the sandbars in strong easterlies, with a marked kite zone north of the mole; neighbouring Schausende works in south-westerly to westerly winds with a water launch. Depressions bring the wind from autumn to spring; summer is lighter, with the occasional accelerated easterly.
