Ammersee

A large lake south-west of Munich that works with the westerly winds of passing depressions, so its season runs from autumn to spring rather than in summer. Herrsching on the east shore has shallow water off a stone beach before it drops off; Eching at the north end works in easterlies, though they can be gusty close to shore. Beaches are packed in summer, when riding should be avoided or kept to the marked times.
