A reservoir in the Franconian Lake District with flat water that gets choppy as the wind builds. Afternoon thermals turn up occasionally in spring and autumn, while westerlies at Allmannsdorf and easterlies at the Mitteldamm are often gusty, so riders who can go at short notice get the most days. Kiting is only allowed when the beaches are empty of tourists, which rules out the summer months; keep clear of the ferry.
