A Maremma resort town with long sandy beaches running south to Marina di Grosseto. Summer afternoons bring a westerly thermal of 15–18 knots, while spring and autumn see frequent north-westerlies of 25–30 knots with chop and waves. The main beaches are busy in summer; south of the Marina di Grosseto harbour there is more room.
