Sicily – Puzziteddu

A sandy bay near Mazara del Vallo on Sicily's south-west coast, the island's wave spot. Summer thermals give flat to choppy water, while winter brings waves of up to 4 m; west and north-west winds (Mistral) are side to side-offshore and best for down-the-line riding, and Scirocco and Levante days also work. It is busy with windsurfers at weekends; the next bay west, Kartibubbo, is the overflow.
