A very large sandy bay between the capes of Gris-Nez and Blanc-Nez on the Channel, the best-known wave spot in northern France, with waves easily over 2.5 m above 5 Beaufort and freeride below that. South-west and north-east winds are side-shore. Neighbouring Sangatte and La Pointe aux Oies near Wimereux add more beaches; low tide means a long walk to the water.
