A large reservoir in the Southern Alps near Embrun, surrounded by mountains. Mornings are light; on summer afternoons a steady thermal blows from about one until seven, reaching 20 knots or more in west to south-westerlies, over flat water. The level drops through the summer as water is released; ride in the marked zones at Embrun or Crots.
